This is the Savage Fabrication Insta-Spool line hx67 turbocharger. this turbo Started life as a genuine Holset hx35, no cheap re-manufactured parts. It then gets CNC machined in the USA to accept a Custom made Billet compressor wheel that is also machined in the USA. I rebuild the chargers using all of the highest quality internal components to create a turbo that is now stock appearing on the outside but can supply a lot more CFM and run at a higher pressure ratio than the factory compressor wheels where designed to.
I port match the turbine housings to a t3 gasket and port the waste gate to a 25mm internal gate.
The amount of horsepower it will support is based off of what engine it is going on. on a 12v diesel motor this charger can support a usable 430-480 with just a compressor change and 575-675 hp if the compressor and turbine wheel are upgraded together. Also running a external gate would allow for the higher power rating while still utilizing the factory turbine wheel. given the motor has the supporting mods and fuel. max effort runs will yield more power but the power would only be usable for a race application where wide open throttle is a short duration.
This large compressor wheel does put a lot of stress on the shaft, I have seen turbos made by other people hold up just fine and take a ton of abuse without a external gate and a Blow Off Valve but I would personally recommend investing in both of those for this particular turbo just to help protect it. I am running a Cast version of this compressor wheel in a he351CW on a 12V cummins with no issues at all without the blow off valve. I am running a large external gate and the truck will have a 50mm Blow off Valve in the next month to make sure the turbo lives a long and happy life.
